For over 10 years, Calgary's death metal juggernaut, Hammerdrone, have dominated stages across Western Canada and gained critical press from the metal media worldwide. Following 2 EPs, a single and 2 full-length albums, the band return with their most ambitious recording yet: “A Trinity of Rage”.
Deliberately written as a concept release and painstakingly crafted over the course of four years, the EP is accompanied by an original short story, "Eversor" (exclusively available as a bonus download via Bandcamp). The story revolves around the fictional second book of Revelation, in which is foretold the threat of Heaven’s destruction at the hands of Eversor, The Destroyer. As the written story of "Eversor" ends, the EP begins, with both the music and lyrics of the three songs completing the narrative arc that the story introduces.
At once aggressively heavy and hauntingly melodic, the band incorporates a variety of black and progressive metal influences to present an EP that both pushes the boundaries and embraces the roots of their old-school, melodic death metal origins. Mixed by the band and then burnished to shine by the professional mastering skills of the legendary Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Be'lakor, Rotting Christ, etc) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden, the result is an epic and forceful musical expression of betrayal, broken faith and vengeance.
